City of Light Champions
It's official.......yesterday, Washington's 7th grade football team won the City of Lights Championship defeating Jefferson 64-48. It was an explosive offensive game by both schools each scoring at will. In the end there could only be one winner and that winner was Washington. On offense great blocking from Karl Fowler, Hayden Sak, Noah Barbel, Daniel Ochoa, Jaime Hernandez, Jacob Gibbons and Orlando McKinney which ignited the offensive charge. Touchdowns were scored by Edgar Sanchez, Maleek Payne, Donald Bandlow, Zach Zelinski. and Thomas Koth who chipped in with big runs and 2 point conversions. On defense, the Generals finally shut the door on Jefferson by intercepting the ball twice in the second half. Daniel Rosales and Tom Koth added to the team’s interception record which was set this year on defense. Overall, the Generals not only finished the season as City Of Lights Champions, but they finished their season at a record of 7-3. A super season to a dedicated and hard working group of 7th grade boys. Congratulations!!!!!!!!!!!
